About Respirators

Respirators are a type of PPE, as well as a legal requirement to safeguard employees from any harmful fumes/substances within their workplace.

No face is the same -respirators need to be fitted to each person to ensure a tight seal to prevent harmful fumes. Facial hair will impact how these respirators will work, which is why it is important to get them fitted to each worker.

We can come to your business to conduct respirator fit testing, as well as exposure monitoring. We suggest Annual Health Monitoring be recorded to see the whether your control measures (respirators) are working as they should.

We have three qualified fit testers, with two of them on the Commit2Fit register - Commit2Fit - New Zealand Occupational Hygiene Society (nzohs.org.nz).
